Banana White Choc Muffins

I absolutely, utterly and hopelessly love bananas. I could blend them in smoothies, incorporate them in cakes or just eat them as a snack. Their rich, tropical flavor and creamy texture make me feel like I’m on some tropical island. Besides, they are a perfect base for any kind of baking if you would like to reduce the amount of sugar and flour you generally have to put in.
I also love chocolate. But the combination of bananas and chocolate – well, now we’re talking! It’s as if the two of them complement each other in some very unique way, the two flavours blending and creating a new one, a sweeter and creamier combination of the milky chocolate and the ripe bananas.

2013 recap and a Chocolate Banana Cake

You know, 2013 has been the best, the most amazing year of my life so far. Sadly, it is about to end in a horrible, awful way. Because people should never give promises they can’t or are not willing to keep. That’s why I’ve been feeling really sad lately – it’s a shame for such a wonderful year to end like this, no?

I’ve been told that whenever you’re sad, chocolate always helps. I’m not sure if this is really true, I believe that nature, water, sun and sex are the best remedies but chocolate certainly doesn’t hurt. That’s why I simply had to make something with chocolate. Lots of it. To boost my mood. And bananas. Because I was going bananas (geddit?). Anyways, more on that later, let me firs tell you about my year.

Banana Pancakes

Good morning!
It’s a lovely Saturday, right? I love Saturdays. It’s the first day of the weekend, you can sleep in, cuddle until noon, then lazily take the day one step at a time.
I tend to be an early-riser, though. Most of the time I’m up at between 9 and 9.30 a.m. at the weekend. You know, for a person whose normal working days start at 8 a.m., this IS a sleep-in, I tell you! Besides, if I’m up before anyone else is, I can have a couple of hours to myself – this is the time to make myself a cup of tea, read those newspapers brought to me from abroad that I never otherwise have time to read, do some yoga, make a breakfast. I love making breakfasts on Saturday mornings! It has become something of a tradition of mine – a Saturday morning breakfast, then a walk in the park, then some shopping. Bliss!
